Outdoor living is an integral aspect of the experience on the Azores. The property features a charming garden that includes a natural swimming pond (3,5m x 7,5m swimming zone) with sundecks, dining areas, a BBQ spot, sunbeds, and peaceful sitting areas where you can savor your morning coffee or relax with a book from our mini library (English books about the island, volcanoes and the ocean, as well as fiction and novels). In the evening, the fire pit provides a warm and cozy way to conclude the day. To enhance your holiday experience, an outdoor massage professional is available upon request.

We have a natural swimming pond complete with decks where you can unwind on sunbeds or spread out your yoga mats. This pond is free of chemicals, maintained naturally through plants, biological processes, and UV treatment instead of chlorine. We designed this space to foster harmony between people and nature, so you might encounter birds, frogs, and insects in the area. We ask our guests to cooperate to help maintain the balance of this pond.

All apartments come with parasols, picnic blankets, beach towels, and a cooling bag, allowing you to fully enjoy the beautiful nature that the Azores has to offer, freely exploring wherever you wish.

Meet with Allie

After we opened our doors, Allie became our most favored "attraction" at home. She sometimes misinterprets the situation and believes that guests are here to admire her rather than just enjoy their vacation.

She is interested in you but never aggressive. A proud member of the Lagotto Romagnolo breed, she is playful and fully hypoallergenic (zero shedding), weighing 14 kg, making her a medium-sized dog. She is not permitted to enter the rental apartments, so please do not encourage her to come inside, as it’s likely that the next guest wouldn’t appreciate it if she does the same later. If you’re uncomfortable with a dog’s presence, please let us know, and we will ensure she is not outside alone during your stay.

We assure you that she is well-fed. If you can't resist her adorable eyes, she becomes extremely happy with some slices of apple or cheese. Feel free to pet her, just be aware that she will rush to you every time you step outside.

Is the natural swimming pond safe for children?

Yes, our eco-friendly pond is fully safe for swimming. Because it is free of harsh chemicals and chlorine, it is exceptionally gentle on the skin and eyes, making it wonderful for guests of all ages.

Are there sunbeds and umbrellas available by the water?

Absolutely. The sundeck area is fully equipped with comfortable sunbeds and sitting areas where you can relax, read a book from our mini-library, or enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by nature.

What should I expect from a natural swimming pond?

Please do not expect a standard swimming pool experience. Our eco-friendly pond is balanced by nature so that humans and birds can enjoy it together. While it features a filtration system and UV light, the hardest purification work is done by beneficial good bacteria. We support this living ecosystem with continuous airflow and water circulation, keeping the water clean without harsh chemicals.

What are the rules for entering the swimming pond?

To maintain the delicate natural balance of the water, we kindly ask all guests to follow a few simple guidelines: Please always use the outdoor shower before entering the pond. Do not eat or drink while inside the water. * If you apply sunscreen, please wait 15–20 minutes for it to fully absorb before you go in.

Do you provide beach towels for outdoor use?

Yes! To save space in your luggage, all of our independent apartments come fully stocked with complimentary beach towels, parasols, picnic blankets, and a handy cooling bag for your beach excursions around the Azores.
